Reuben
P. Wechsler, MD, MBA
After
graduating with Honors from Brandeis University, I attended
Mt. Sinai Medical School in NYC. From there, I went to
Florida to start my residency years in Surgery, and
subsequently completed my Residency in Anesthesiology at
the University of Miami program. My 3rd
year of
Residency included what had previously been two six-month
fellowships – in Cardiac Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
I came
to Atlanta in 1989 to begin my Private Practice career, and
have been here since.
I have a special affinity for Regional Anesthesia
techniques, and also love to work with the Pediatric
patients in our outpatient practice. I have been with the
Physicians and Anesthetists who now comprise Emory
Specialty Associates – Anesthesia, since 1999. We are a
very eclectic, and, I believe, very talented, group of
physicians and anesthetists, who despite tremendous growth,
manage to remain close and enjoy each other’s company
socially.
Like our managing partner, I saw a need to add to my
education so as to better participate in the business
affairs of the practice of medicine, and thus completed my
MBA degree in 1999, while continuing to practice full-time.
We have a busy household comprised of my wife, 4 children
and 2 pets. We love to travel, and recently completed a
2nd
cruise
together. Other hobbies of mine include model trains,
photography, water sports and guitar.
