Timothy Boozer,
I was
born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I attended The
University of Alabama from which I graduated in 1981 with a
BS degree in Chemistry. I then attended Auburn University
and graduated with a BS in Pharmacy degree in 1983. I was
then able to work part-time as a pharmacist during my first
year in medical school at the University of South Alabama
which began soon thereafter.
After graduating from USA with an MD degree I entered an
internship program at The University of Tennessee at
Chattanooga in general surgery followed by an additional
two years of surgery residency at Marshall University in
West Virginia. After realizing I had a greater interest in
anesthesiology I entered and completed residency training
in anesthesiology at Emory University in Atlanta.
After completing residency training at Emory in 1993 I
remained on faculty there briefly as assistant professor in
anesthesiology prior to leaving for private practice. I
practiced with a group based primarily at West Paces
Medical Center in Atlanta until the hospital closed in
1999. Subsequently, I joined my current practice which
provides service to Emory John’s Creek Medical Center and
several ambulatory surgery centers.
Aside from anesthesiology my interests include running,
backpacking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities.
